 | Battlefield 2142 Linux Dedicated Server |
 Battlefield 2142 came out Dec 18th,2005 with both Windows and Linux dedicated servers. It is still nice to see some developers giving Linux its due when their games are released.
It seems many new game releases now are starting to leave Linux dedicated servers out more and more which is very dissapointing.

| BF1942: Battlefield 2142 Release In Days!! |
In just a matter of days the release of Battlefield 2142 will be out. The linux port is still TBA and the message board has received no posting by EA recently.
"The ship date is the 17th, but the actual in stores date is the 18th/19th
The EA Downloader version will be available on the 18th @ 1PM EST
I'm waiting myself........it's only a day and a half.

Battlefield 2142 is no replacement for Battlefield2 so it will be intersting to see how well it is received.

| Hackers Hack BF2, EA doesn't listen |
Hacker's screw up the odds, and EA (so far) doesn't care..
"Well, what a wonderful few days it has been. Since EA didn't take the time to respond (or maybe even read) our emails about various stats-server security holes, it clearly showed us how much they care. Therefore, we came to the conclusion that modifying 5 million accounts wouldn't be that big of a deal.
That being said, accounts with ids from 40,000,000 to 45,000,000 now have all of their weapons unlocked.
What will be next week? Perhaps we'll give everyone their Distinguished Service Medal, or maybe we'll elevate everyone to the rank of Sergeant Major.

HOTFIX for BF2 v1.01 Now Available!
The hotfix for Battlefield 2 v1.01 is now available for download. This update replaces v1.01 and fixes the said memory leak. Along with this update, we’ve made available an updated unranked server file for Win32 and an updated unranked server file for Linux.
