Punkbuster Interview @ Gamecloud
A new article over at Gamecloud talks with the punkbuster folks.. Check out some of the new goods for server admins.
Gamecloud - We know that you can't go into too many details, but what features are you planning to put into Punkbuster software for future versions?
Tony Ray - Most of our new features are slated for server admins, things like new WebTool features and better remote access tools. One new side app we are currently beta testing, called PBSetup is a slick GUI interface (as opposed to the older PBWeb console app) that lets players update all of their PunkBuster files for all games we support with only a couple of clicks on their desktop. This saves waiting for PunkBuster to auto-update during gameplay and also helps players who are behind a restrictive firewall that blocks or interferes with our auto-update process. We really don't expend a lot of resources on new features compared to improving our core product. I've seen too many companies go under because they tried to expand too quickly. We're happy just fighting cheating - this is a needed role and no one else (surprisingly) seems to want to compete with us in this space.

News: Remote Admin Tool Update
thefreezer writes "For anyone that has used the Freezing CoD Remote admin tool and liked it, I am finally updating it to include new mods and games and to allow customisation of the tool.
The basic idea is that the admin tool can be customised to change the look of and the server/rcon commands associated with the individual controls from a 'game data file'.
Am going to write a Game Data File editor and will create my own that will come with the install to allow admin for several games and mods (UO included.). New GDF files will be importable into the Remote Admin Tool so sharing of configs will be available and there will be recognition of the config author within the app. itself.
I am making good progress with this, soon to start the testing of different servers to decide on how to handle slight variations in the responses from different games/mods and to test DooM3 and HL2 server responses.
If anybody has a request or good idea that they think should be included, or would like to take part in the initial beta testing then please visit the site and post your comments :

Alternatively, keep visitng the News Page to stay up to date with progress. The first version rocked, this is going to be even betterer by a loooong way....

Happy Holidays!
Happy holidays from Gameadmins.com!
We wanted to wish you all a great holiday season and much prosperity and joy in the coming year.
We’ve taken a ‘slow down’ this month on posting, and I’m sure a lot of it is based on the Holiday season being here. That doesn't mean we've gone away or anything, it
just means we need to get some people buckled down and in the mood to write some news!

can keep the cheaters off of our servers. Please visit Planet

"Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory v1.01 is a patch to address various server stability issues. It does not change gameplay or adjust any features - it is simply some bug fixes in the server code.
