 | BF1942: Battlefield 2142 Release In Days!! |
 In just a matter of days the release of Battlefield 2142 will be out. The linux port is still TBA and the message board has received no posting by EA recently.
"The ship date is the 17th, but the actual in stores date is the 18th/19th
The EA Downloader version will be available on the 18th @ 1PM EST
I'm waiting myself........it's only a day and a half.

Battlefield 2142 is no replacement for Battlefield2 so it will be intersting to see how well it is received.

| BF1942: New InstaGib Mod v1.4 for BF1942! |
InstaGib v1.4 for BF1942 has been released. This mini-mod is based around the one-shot-one-kill aspect of game play. This is a new version is reportedly compatible with the new BF1942 1.4 patch (the prior InstaGib release was not). This release contains some tweaks, and the aiming is more arcade style and it has the one-shot-kill system.

The Official 1.4 Patch is now available and ready for download!
This latest patch includes a number of game tweaks, balancing, new weapons and added & enhanced functionality. Perhaps the biggest news in the game admin community, is the release of the first public Linux Beta Server now being offered with this release!

| BF1942: AGAIN, a new battlefield Linux server patch |

The Battlefield Server community as you know are working hard to get a much needed Linux Dedicated Server Gold. Ryan C. Gordon has released yet another build of the Linux Dedicated server. This new build fixes the segfault when starting a COOP server and a few other things.

| BF1942: BattleField 1942 1.2 Patch News |
Check out the EA Messageboards and saw this about the upcoming patch and whats on top of the list.
At the top of the list:
- Linux Server
- 1.2 Patch
- Map Editor
- Mod Tools
We also have some updated information about the top list items. The Linux
Server is currently going through the debug process and we're working hard
to get it out as soon as possible. The 1.2 patch will address many of the
issues which have been brought up on the forums and boards concerning
bandwidth optimization, client prediction tweaking and general stability
(sorry, Digger, we're not going to add a grappling hook!) The patch will
also deliver the highly anticipated Map Editor. As for other mod tools,
we're looking at what it would take to modify the existing dev tools for the
mod-community. Stay tuned for more updates.
